Hollywood: Open question to the room:
Do you use WIN stops. Another words how many units do you try to win in a session before you leave the table.
I ask this because I had a disagreement with a fellow player last night.
It was one of those nights where the count never became a factor. I was winning just based on BS through SD. 6 out of every 10 hands were mine, just from flat betting. Only twice did the count come in my favor and ironically enough it was the only times the dealer was getting better cards then me (go figure).
Anyway I usually keep a win stop at 25 to 35 units. So when I was up that much I stopped. I would just like to know what the rest of you do under the same conditions.
Everybody always talks about stop losses, but I don't hear much about stop wins.
My friend said because the counting was never a factor and I had 0 exposure (camowise), my win rate system should not have applied here.
Do you agree?

Hollywood

Given that heat and longevity questions are not an issue here, why would you want to stop? Do you dislike money?

Hollywood,
I would probably continue a little longer under those conditions, because nothing was given away. But at some point a counterish type move will show up, and that's what you want to avoid. The one or two moves at the end can mess up a beautiful session otherwise.

So then I guess what your both saying, is that you don't keep a set figure in your head that says enough.
That's kind of what I was wondering.
So if there is no heat and your winning, you just play until you're tired. You don't keep any winning limits on you.
Thanks for the feed back. From these 2 posts I guess I was wrong and my friend was correct.

In order to give another prespective, it is important to know the enviroment. Some casinos do not show much heat from the pit because the eye is watching.
I like to keep sessions short, less then one hour. This is my first "stop" point. Then it depends on how agressive I have been. If my win would appear to be lucky without much deviation from BS, if I have only increased my bets by paralying after a win, or if I have not pulled back my bet after a win, then I would only play an hour regardless of the amount of the win.
On the other hand if I have been agressive, deviated from BS based on the count, jumped my bet, or reduce my bet after a loss because the count went down, then I would leave before the hour. In this case I set a stop win of 30 units or so.

98%: Free Camouflage
I think you probably made the right play, but I am pretty conservative when it comes to winning. Casinos do not like to lose, regardless of what their advertisements may say. What's great about this is that, should they decide to scrutinize your session closely (and, as I recall, you are a black chip player so that is a possibility) they will be forced to conclude that you were just lucky (which you were).
Also, suppose you had continued playing and a nice high-count shoe came along and you kept winning. Now you're up a tremendous amount, perhaps 50 units or more and now you're varying your bets and playing according to the count. Do you really want the kind of scrutiny that will bring?
There is one other matter to consider. Suppose you had kept playing and winning and gotten up 50 or more units just playing basic strategy and getting lucky. Do you think there has never been a case of a casino backing a lucky player off just for winning?
Ultimately, how best to handle a win is a matter of opinion. While having a tremendous win is nice, it can cause problems. You just have to decide for yourself whether the risk of getting backed off at a particular casino is worth a huge win.

veinte-uno: My 2 cents
I would also say it depends on how long your "trip" is and how long you have already played. (I know your a NY "runner" so your trip bank is probably a % of your entire bank.)
For example, when I go to Vegas I have "trip bank". I set a win stop at 30% of my entire "trip bank" in any given session. It also depends on how long you were there. If I hit my win stop in the first twenty minutes (boy wouldn't that be nice) I would probably add another 5-10% win on the stop.
98% has a good point as well, don't over stay your welcome, regardless of how you won it! (ie. BS or counting)
It is an issue that is best decided by your personal evaluation of the situation. Use your best judgement. If you do make a bad judgement don't worry, any mistake will always teach you something!
Buenas cartas,

Time is on their side - have seen $10 unit better win $4000 at Mirage while parlaying - PB shook his hand and said way to go - BUT - an hour of scrutiny got a friend betting 5-25 at Orleans barred - I suggest TIME instead a bucks - and at 30 + units - focus on units - enjoy the wins - and scram! Or - 55 min - time to go.

ET Fan: Stop win is purely for camo
I don't understand what you mean by "my win rate system." Whassat? Sounds an awful lot like money management.
In the midwest, at red chip level, I play 4-6 hour sessions. I'll play 12 hours straight if I can. Only thing stopping me is bad legs and the 3 hour drive back and forth.
