There is no redoubling with NHC Pontoon.

I presume that game is S17.

Here, to the best of my knowledge overall
    xxx available on H17 only
    xx. available on S17 only.

    I could be wrong

No, NHC Pontoon is always H17. Spanish 21 comes in both S17 and H17 versions with various doubling and redoubling rules.

Dave if there is no redoubling with NHC pontoon and you mentioned H17 is NHC pontoon,

Why the Katrina book gives BS which can redouble for H17

Why I am in a game which is NHC and H17 and printed option for redoubling?

It will make sense if instead no redoubling for S17

The book is probably referring to Spanish 21 which is a different game and even though they share common features it seems to me that you may be confusing the two. The main difference between the two games is that if a player is dealt a natural in their first two cards it's an automatic 3:2 winner in Pontoon.

This is also the case for SP21 in my locale. I've never looked into the differences since Pontoon is not offered here.

And how is the above going to affect redoubling

I believe that correct strategy for doubling and redoubling in Pontoon will be the same as for Spanish 21 because both games have the tens removed and both games have the same bonus payouts for undoubled hands.

Davethebuilder will correct me if i am wrong.

When doubling, there are very minor variations in the correct Basic Strategy play between NHC H17 Pontoon and HC S17/H17 Spanish 21, especially when BB+1 and OBBO are offered. Australian Pontoon rules permit doubling once, including doubling after splitting and then the option of forfeit. Redoubling is a North American rule and does not exist in Australia. Soft doubling is an option that also needs to be considered as part of the North American strategy due to the different rule sets.

If the OP would like to identify his location we may be able to make more sense of what he is asking.

    The casino is in Philippines

However the Query is after you had said there is no redoubling with NHC pontoon.

Philippines is related to USA? That’s why there is redoubling? So your info is wrong? There Is redoubling with NHC Pontoon if it’s from the USA or similar countries?
