Atlantic City is the better trip, even with the shittier games. PA casinos are too spread out. Harrahs, Rivers, and Parx are each 30 minutes drive or more apart. Atlantic City has 9 casinos all walking distance or $2.50 Jitney apart.

What's your experience with backoffs there? Do they target red-chippers?

They do indeed target red chippers. Also they skip the backoff and go straight to the trespass.

They are the worst casino of the Philly 4. They target players that won't present their casino card. Will keep distracting you especially they feel you are counting even you just play red chips.

Dont 'target' red chippers...esp with the 12-20 spreads kats here promote...should be fine...higher levels will be trespassed for sure

I’m not sure which Philly casino you are referring to, but I was backed off not trespassed at one place. It all depends on the staff and the store though so I wouldn’t be surprised if it does happen somewhere in Philly. Also the lower your bets, the less likely you will be caught, that’s just the way it is. But it can still happen, try to avoid staff who seem sharp or recognize a pattern in what you do.

I've only been backed off at two but they were both super polite.

Usually I hate philly rivers but thanks for the idea X-ray. Head over on my lunch break and up & $325 in under an hour, 2 shoes, 6 deck high limit table, $50 min, $75 starting bet, 4:1 bet spread.
    - Advanced Omega 2 Count
    - Side count of aces adjusting running count for betting

Won’t make it a habit though. Parx is the place and doesn’t smell like a dumpster.

Example benefit of Advanced omega 2 - Negative true count > -4 and hit my 16 on 10 ( usually a dead surrender on initial hand ) and there comes the 5, dealer flips for the 20 but doesn’t matter, 21 muthafucka, pay me bitch ????

Yes, friend betting from $10 to $50 on shoe game and be told he can never play BJ again. This is his home base. So he bet modestly. But some casino will ban all counters, including red chippers if algorithm identify bet fluctuate with true count correctly.

I suspect ya’ll are missing the most important part of card counting if you’re getting backed off or banned with a 50:10 5:1 bet spread. How you are perceived. I’ve never been backed off at a casino in the past year. ( PA homebase ) This is the time I started playing serious blackjack. I’ve done bet spreads with red, green, black chips going up to purple at table max and betting as low as $15 a hand table min.
You need to look like a gambler, not a counter. I didn’t use a card for a few months but when asked by the pit boss of course I got it. You want to create the relationship and not give any inclination that you have any advantage. You want to project the exact opposite. The casino is the expert. Of course you play your game and don’t take their advice. When you win it’s luck, if you lose, they were right. It’s a win win. Read up on camouflage but casino bosses can look for it. In this day and age I’ve found playing the side bets is the best camo. Same logic, play them with an advantage ( there’s a proven method for them as well, professional players use ) you will miss some and “you should have played it.” Then you will get the sides at the advantage point of the deck and wow it’s luck but why don’t you play them more? ????
I start to feel bad with how much I’m taking them for. That is until I hit a bad string of cards and go down $2500.
Get it though? Play the politics. It’s a private property, house rules and they can ask you to leave because they don’t like you.

Interesting old thread that somehow returned.

Yes, PA is second in gaming revenue. Practically tied with NJ but barely ahead. And I believe also 2nd in Blackjack revenue but I couldn't find that immediately.

Bethlehem Wind Creek (near Allentown) is actually closer to much of NYC than Atlantic City is. If you are coming from Newark and just looking to gamble to can either go 1:15 to Bethlehem or 2:00 to AC. So that one helps a bit as well as all the Philly and Pittsburgh shops plus others scattered around the state all over the place.

I would not necessarily describe it as "one hour" from Philly to AC. The traffic is absolutely hideous much of the time. Call it one hour IF you are traveling at 11pm or something.
