Hello all. I'm trying to sim a side bet in CVData, but I think I may not be doing something right. I've tried setting it up two ways, and one way shows a loss in the hundreds of dollars per hour, and the other way shows a return of over $1000 per hour, both of which seem like they're not right, so I think I'm doing something wrong. I've read through the reference manual but I can't seem to figure out where I may be going wrong (I think it may be in the set up of the side bet, but I'm not 100% sure).
Here's what I'm trying to do: A single side bet has three payouts. Call them Payout A, B and C. If my first two cards have exactly one of a certain value card (suits don't matter, only the cards value, each face being a separate value) I get Payout A. If both of my first two cards have that value, I get Payout B. If both my first two cards and the dealer's upcard have that value, I get Payout C. What I'm trying to do is side count that one particular card value and use that to determine when to make the sidebet and what my EV is.
So far I've tried setting up the payouts in three "Sidebet" tabs and setting up a side count in the "Betting" tab of a new simulation, with the results of the sims described in the first paragraph. Any suggestions on how to make sure I'm doing this properly? If you need further description of how I've set it up so far, let me know.
